Basically for extra fingers which makes it all the more possible and easy to play. Then you basically just tap with the fingers on the left hand and finger pick a few notes with the right hand, occasionally tapping with the right hand fingers as well.
"Impossible guitar" is a very lame title for this video. It should be "Idiot plays an overrated and badly designed 10 string guitar!"
